2015 Mercedes Benz CLS Class

2015 Mercedes Benz CLS Class

The 2015 Mercedes Benz CLS and CLS Shooting Brake will feature a sharper appearance and more technology, including high-tech Multibeam LED headlights, utilizes LED headlight technology from the new S-Class.

The overall shape of the 2015 model’s headlamps remains unchanged, but there are now standard LEDs instead of bi-xenons. For some markets, Mercedes will offer ultra-advanced matrix LED headlights with 24 LEDs in each unit. They are controlled individually and can be dimmed in a full 255 stages.

Under the hood, the 2015 CLS gets the same engine choices as last year, with a little more power. The CLS550′s 4.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 now produces 408 horsepower, while the CLS63 AMG’s 5.5.-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 557 hp. Topping the range is the CLS63 AMG S-Model, with 585 hp.

Inside, the most noteworthy modification is the updated Command infotainment system which features an eight-inch screen sitting atop the wood grain dashboard. Elsewhere, the interior of the facelifted CLS adopts a new three-spoke steering wheel and some redesigned centre console controls…

2015 Mercedes-Benz V-Class

2015 Mercedes-Benz V-Class

Launched in Munich, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz V-class will be sold in Europe from this spring, and it’s possible that it will eventually be offered in the U.S., too. While the decision on the 2015 V-class has yet to be taken, it is clear that its Vito working-class brother will come to these shores to complement the bigger Sprinter.

The new luxury MPV offers two equipment lines, an Exterior Sports package and an Interior Design package for each line, two wheelbase options, three body lengths from 4985 mm to 5370 mm and a huge range of optional extras, making it perfect for families or luxurious VIP or hotel shuttle.

Under the hood, the V-Class will offer a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine in three output levels: the V200 CDI with 136PS (134hp) and 330Nm; the V220 CDI with 163PS (161hp) and 380Nm; and the V250 BlueTEC with 190PS (187hp) and 440Nm. The last two versions return an average fuel economy of 5.7l/100km (41.3mpg US / 49.6mpg UK) and 6.0l/100km (39.2mpg US / 47.1mpg UK) respectively.

The interior of the new V-Class features high-quality appointments and reflects the style of Mercedes-Benz passenger car models. It thus very clearly embodies the unmistakable Mercedes-Benz passenger car design philosophy of ‘sensual clarity’. The typical contrasting interplay of organic surfaces and clear lines, along with warm and cool colour tones, conveys an exceptional sense of harmony and serves to underline the high-class feel of the vehicle.

The heated and cooled captain’s chairs are comfortable and supportive, with full electric adjustment, while the adjustable armrests help to give a relaxed feel at the wheel. Visibility from the driver’s seat is good, and there are front and rear parking sensors plus four cameras that give the V-Class driver a 360-degree view of what’s going on around the vehicle…

2015 Lexus NX

2015 Lexus NX

First compact crossover Toyota’s premium brand – Lexus, the 2015 NX, has finally been revealed. The production version of the NX will make its debut on the world stage at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show next week before sailing into showrooms in the fall. Key rivals for the NX will be the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 as well as the upcoming Lincoln MKC and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

The big news here is under the hood: the NX will be the first Lexus to use a turbocharged engine. That’s right, a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder can be found in both the NX 200t and NX 200t F Sport. There will also be an NX 300h, and if Lexus’ nomenclature remains consistent…

The LED running-light slash seen on the concept is prominently featured, and will visually tie the NX to the IS sedan and RC coupe. The crossover’s headlights and grille also appear to have been reshaped to more closely resemble those of the IS.

EPA fuel-economy ratings for the 2015 Lexus NX have not been announced. Estimates for its direct competitors vary quite a bit, with the the BMX X1 achieving 23 mpg around town and 34 mpg on the freeway, Infiniti QX50 expected to average 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, and the Acura RDX essentially splitting the difference with figures of 20 and 28 mpg, respectively. As for the hybrid, expect at least a slight drop compared to the 40-mpg ES 300h…

2015 Lincoln MKC

The all-new car model – 2015 Lincoln MKC was quietly shown at the LA Auto Show at November 2013, surprising given how important this car is to the Lincoln Motor Company and that it’s rather good looking in person.

So, yes, the MKC shares its platform with a Ford product, or rather several of them, as it rides on the solid C1 bones that also underpin the Focus, the C-Max, and the one most closely related to this Lincoln, the Escape. But calling the MKC a rebadged Escape sells short the alterations that make it, if not a unique vehicle, somewhat more than a simple re-skin.

The MKC offers two turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The new one displaces 2.3 liters, so, as with the MKZ and its V-6, the MKC offers a powerplant unavailable in its correlate Ford (although a stronger version will find its way into the 2015 Mustang).

Compared with the 2.0-liter base unit, it receives unique intake and exhaust plumbing, including a three-port integrated exhaust manifold (as opposed to a single port); a new radiator, condenser, and air-to-air intercooler; larger valves; and its own twin-scroll Honeywell turbocharger that pumps at 15 psi.

Making 275 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 3000, it’s competitive with the German bogeys namely the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes GLK, the top-deck versions of which make 272, 300, and 302 horsepower and 295, 300, and 273 lb-ft.

The Lincoln Motor Company announced today that when the MKC goes on sale in summer 2014, it’ll start at $33,995. That gets you the 2.0-liter Ecoboost with front-wheel drive and stuff like paddles for the six-speed automatic, 18-inch wheels, backup camera and a numbered keypad on the driver’s door in the great Ford tradition. The top-shelf Reserve trim level starts at $40,930 and brings even more luxury features including the panoramic roof, navigation, cooled front seats and wifi access…
