After 4 years in which it’s become in 2010 a segment best-seller, the Chevrolet Cruze is finally getting a long overdue update. The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze will be debuting at the upcoming New York International Auto Show with a new nose, a few interior changes, and new infotainment options.

2015 Nissan Altima

The Altima – Nissan’s best-selling model. There was a time that we preferred it for its engaging driving dynamics as a scrappy upstart in the segment, but now, we enjoy it as a safe, comfortable mid-size sedan.

The 2015 Nissan Altima is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 182 horsepower. A 3.5-liter V6 with 270 horsepower is available. Front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are standard. The base 2015 Altima gets an EPA-estimated 27/38 mpg city/highway, while the V6 earns 22/32 mpg.

The interior’s a big contrast: it’s conservatively drawn, with straight lines dividing off the center stack of controls from the driver and the passenger. There’s also more space left for larger LCD screens for more advanced infotainment systems.

2015 Hyundai Sonata

2015 Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai teased us with a rendering and some sparse details about its revised styling 2015 Sonata. Then we provided a quick look at an un-camouflaged model as it sat in a Korean production facility. Now we can fill in most of the rest of the blanks following the official unveiling of the car at an event in Hyundai’s home market of Korea.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata features a more sophisticated look, which was achieved by adopting the automaker’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language first seen on the 2015 Genesis. The car is also 35 millimeters longer and 30 millimeters wider than the one it replaces, which also gives it a more imposing look and stance. Hyundai says this has also helped increased interior space.

Under the hood, The 2015 Sonata maintains the engine sizes found in the current model, with minor revisions for the sake of refinement. A 185-horsepower, four-cylinder engine is standard, while a turbocharged, 245-horsepower engine is available exclusively on the Sport model.

Both are paired to 6-speed automatic transmissions, with no manual transmission available. If our experience with the current Sonata is any indication, we’re confident that both engines will, once again, provide enough power to match the competition.

Inside, the 2015 Sonata’s center stack has seen the most surgery. The navigation system’s 8-inch screen takes its place at the top of the center stack, just below the CD player opening.

That screen can feature a split view, showing the map and audio info simultaneously. Later in 2014, the 2015 Sonatas with navigation will offer Apple CarPlay, an easier way to integrate your iPhone 5s, 5c, or 5 if you are running the latest version of iOS…
